General Introduction

Tianfu International Convention Center is located at the heart of Chengdu’s Tianfu Central Business District. Spanning 160,000 square meters, its architectural design draws inspiration from the iconic “Eaves of Tianfu.” Seamlessly blending Sichuan’s rich cultural heritage with modern technology and contemporary aesthetics, the center offers a world-class, professional venue ideal for hosting large-scale conferences and international events.

How to Reach Conference Venue

Chengdu has convenient public transportation, including two major airports — Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and several high-speed railway stations such as Chengdu East Railway Station. The city’s metro and bus networks also make local travel efficient and accessible.

Detailed guidance for reaching the Tianfu International Convention Center is outlined below.

1. Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport → Tianfu International Convention Center

Distance: approximately 29 km
a. By taxi: around 44 minutes

b. By public transport: Walk about 250 meters to Terminal 2 of Shuangliu International Airport Metro Station, take Metro Line 19 (toward Tianfu International Airport North, 6:00-23:30), get off at Tianfu Commercial District (Exit B), then walk about 1000 meters to the Convention Center.

2. Chengdu Tianfu International Airport → Tianfu International Convention Center

Distance: approximately 50 km
a. By taxi: around 41 minutes

b. By public transport: Walk about 300 meters to Terminal 1 & 2 Tianfu International Airport Metro Station, take Metro Line 18 (toward South Railway Station, 06:03-23:34), get off at Western China International Expo City Station (Exit E), then walk about 500 meters to the Convention Center.

c. Take the airport shuttle bus arranged by the LOC. Shuttle services will be provided on September 20 and 21, with buses departing from the airport at 10:00 AM, 12:00 AM, 4:00 PM, and 8:00 PM—one bus every four hours.

3. Chengdu East Railway Station → Tianfu International Convention Center

Distance: approximately 30.1 km
a. By taxi: around 38 minutes

b. By public transport: Walk about 40 meters to Chengdu East Metro Station, take Metro Line 7 (inner loop, 06:15-23:13), transfer at South Railway Station to Metro Line 18 (toward Tianfu Airport North, 06:00-23:30), get off at Western China International Expo City Station (Exit E), then walk about 500 meters to the Convention Center. Total travel time is about 44 minutes.

Venue Interior Route Guide

The entrance to the Tianfu International Convention Center is located on Shuzhou Road. From the entrance, a short flight of steps leads to the main reception hall on the second floor. To the left front of the reception hall, there is a staircase descending to the first floor.

After going down the stairs and passing through a door, turn right and walk straight for about 50 meters to reach the main conference venue—Jiuzhai Hall (Room 115).

The Wawushan Hall (Room 114), located near Jiuzhai Hall, will be available as a temporary workspace for participants from 8:30 to 18:30. In the evening, from 19:00 to 21:00, it will host the ISDEIV PISC meeting.

During the conference, the Local Organizing Committee office will be located in Bifengxia Hall (Room 113). Participant check-in and any inquiries related to the local committee can be handled there.

The foyer outside Jiuzhai Hall will be used for poster presentations, sponsor booths, and refreshments. Opposite Jiuzhai Hall, through the glass windows, lies the atrium landscape and the “Chengdu Courtyard” garden. While engaging in academic discussions, participants can also enjoy the scenic charm of Chengdu’s idyllic landscape, offering a pleasant blend of nature and modernity.

How to Take the Metro in Chengdu

1. Ticket Vending Machines (Self-Service)

a. Locate a ticket machine. Ticket vending machines are available at every station and support both English and Chinese.
b. Select your destination. Use the touchscreen to choose the station you are traveling to. If departing from Shuangliu International Airport, select Tianfu Commercial District (Line 19) as your destination. If departing from Tianfu International Airport or Chengdu East Railway Station, select Western China International Expo City (Line 18).
c. Choose the number of tickets. Select how many tickets you need.
d. Make payment. You can pay using: Cash (bills or coins), Alipay and WeChat Pay.
Tip: Smaller stations may not accept large bills (¥50/¥100), so it’s best to carry small change.
e. Collect your tickets and change. Once the payment is complete, take your tickets and any change dispensed.

Note: Single-journey tickets purchased from vending machines must be tapped at the entrance gate and inserted into the slot at the exit gate. The ticket will be collected, and the gate will open for you to exit.

The ISDEIV 2025 Organizing Committee has arranged a special sightseeing itinerary for accompanying guests to fully experience Chengdu’s rich historical and cultural heritage. The itinerary is as follows:

Day 1: September 22 – Dujiangyan Irrigation System

• Visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, an extraordinary 2,260-year-old hydraulic engineering marvel and the world’s oldest non-dam irrigation system still functioning today.

Day 2: September 23 – Giant Panda Base & Du Fu Thatched Cottage

• Morning tour of the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, an internationally acclaimed facility dedicated to the protection, breeding, and research of giant pandas. • Afternoon visit to the tranquil Du Fu Thatched Cottage, a historical tribute to Du Fu, one of China’s greatest Tang Dynasty poets, set amidst lush gardens and classical architecture.

Day 3: September 24– Sanxingdui Museum & Banquet

Day 4: September 25 – Kuanzhai Alley, Qingyang Palace & Wuhou Shrine

• Explore the historic Kuanzhai Alley, reflecting Chengdu’s cultural heritage and local lifestyle. • Tour the Qingyang Palace, Chengdu’s oldest and largest Taoist temple, celebrated nationwide for its historical significance and architectural beauty.

Visit to the Sanxingdui Museum (11:00-16:00, September 24)

Sanxingdui Museum, located in Guanghan, Sichuan, is a fascinating window into the ancient Shu civilization. The museum showcases over 6,000 remarkable artifacts, including bronze, gold, jade, and ivory relics. The Sanxingdui Ruins, dating back 4,500 to 2,900 years, reveal the unique culture, artistry, and technological achievements of the mysterious Shu Kingdom. It is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history, archaeology, and ancient Chinese civilization.

Banquet in Crowne Plaza Chengdu West (18:00-21:00, September 24)

The banquet will be held at the Crowne Plaza Chengdu West and will feature traditional Chinese performances, offering guests a rich cultural experience alongside the evening’s dining.
